"WE TASTE and feel and see the truth. We do not reason ourselves into it" - William Butler Yeats.
Has man not become a weed??
Heaven has no gate.
Earth has no door.
Only humans can realize God.
Man considers himself the most sophisticated, intelligent and technologically advanced living being on this globe of earth.
His inventions and innovations have revolutionized the way of living on this earth. His life style of comfort and ease is just an indication of what he has achieved over the period of a few centuries.
He goes to the extent of taming everything and every being, including Nature, and has gained supremacy in this universe, notwithstanding the scheme and wish of the Supreme.
Man is ruthless in his approach and cannot allow anything to stand in his way. He uses almost everything in nature for his consumption be it the plants, trees and animals.
For this purpose he has also invented many new varieties of plants and other vegetation and has protected and grown many species for his consumption at the desired time and need.
In his lust for taste he devours roots, stems, leaves, flowers and fruit.
He does not spare even the poisonous snakes, lizards, cockroaches, ants etc.
He also takes care that nothing stands between him and his ambition. He calls himself the most advanced in the field of agriculture.
No unnecessary and damaging growth of plants or insects is allowed where he grows his desired crop. Such plants and growth, called weed, is destroyed ruthlessly, notwithstanding its utility or otherwise in the scheme of nature. He has even produced the ‘rain-seeds’ and can bring rain at any place at the desired time so that his crops are not deprived of irrigation.
Man’s contention is that since he is the most intelligent living being on this earth he has the right to decide what and when of everything.
If something is not conducive to man’s interest it must be destroyed or at least it should not be allowed to stand in his way.
That is why hundreds of species of plants and even small birds have completely been extinguished since they were damaging to man’s progressive ideas or perhaps they could not survive in man’s created new environment.
Ironically, man never paid any attention to the scheme of the Supreme or the system of the nature.
He just went on and on in his ruthless progress at the cost of anything and everything.
But going by man’s own philosophy of ‘For me, or for no one’, has man not become a weed in the scheme of nature?
Nature had created all living beings and things for a peaceful co-existence on this earth and provided a good conducive atmosphere.
Everyone had been provided sufficiently for their need. No one was expected to take over the charge and destroy the very system.
Man, in his greed, has not only destroyed many lives but he has even harmed the very basis of life i.e. the ecological balance. His industries and inventions are polluting the whole atmosphere so much that the so-called lower forms of life on earth, in the air and in the water are finding it difficult to survive.
Ironically man justifies the destruction of all those plants and insects and even small animals which create hindrance or bring disease to his cultivated crops.
And, as such hundreds and thousands of plants and animals have completely been destroyed or are at the verge of extinction.
Now if nature follows man’s own philosophy, man is the greatest and the most harmful weed in the scheme of the Supreme.
He has obstructed in every way God’s scheme of natural progress and development.
So much so that today man realizes his folly of destroying the environment and the depleting ozone cover.
But he does not seem prepared to change his style of living and satisfying his greed.
I ask again - "Has man not become a weed in the scheme of nature"?
When man considers himself powerful enough to rule over whatever is docile and powerless before him, why should he expect some other treatment from the nature or the Supreme Soul?
Remember - "We taste and feel and see the truth but we do not reason ourselves into it".
Heaven has no gate.
Earth has no door..
And, only humans can realize God.
