Our Moms - The Phenomenal Ones

THE BEAUTY of motherhood is not in reproduction but in inclusion – to experience another life as a part of yourself.

Our generation is becoming so busy trying to prove that women can do what men can do.
Women weren't created to do everything a man can do, women were created to do everything a man can't do.

The essence of being a good mother is about the sacrifices she makes.

Dear Moms,

Thanks for giving the best things in your life - Your time, your care and your love!

Let me tell you a story 👉

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was preparing dinner, and he handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:

For cutting the grass: 5Aed

For cleaning up my room this week: 10Aed

For going to the store for you: 20Aed

Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: 30Aed

Taking out the garbage: 5Aed

For cleaning up and raking the yard: 15Aed

Total owed for the month: 85Aed

Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind.
She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he had written on, and this is what she wrote:

For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me: No Charge.

For all the nights that I have sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you: No Charge.

For all the trying times, and all the tears that you have caused through the years: No Charge.

For all the nights filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead: No Charge.

For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose: No Charge.

When you add it up, the cost of my love is: No Charge.

When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight up at his mother and said,

"Mom, I sure do love you."

And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote:

"Paid In Full"!!!

In many parts of the world, today's Mother's Day!

To all the Mothers out there, I send you my gratitude for all that you do, and have done.

Our relationships with our mothers are not always easy, but this weekend, I encourage you to embrace the gifts your mom bestowed upon you, whatever they may be.

My mom is a very important person in my life.
To me she is phenomenal.

In honor of mothers, I would like you to join me in doing something special for our mom's:

Take a moment to acknowledge who they are and recognize the gifts that their courage and strength bestowed upon us.
Each of our mothers was brave to have us. Brave to undertake the task of raising us.

And when we grow up, they have to undergo the brave task of letting us go. Which I can tell you from personal experience is no small feat!

So ask yourself, "What kind of hero is my mom?"

Then, this weekend, reach out to your mother and tell her how much you appreciate her. If it feels a bit 'uncomfortable' or  there's distance barrier, you can always write it in a card and message her.

This simple act will mean more to her than words could ever describe.

For those of you whose mothers are no longer with us, I would like you to do something a little different.

Find a candle, and as you light it, acknowledging the 'light' she brought into your life.

Acknowledge you are missing her, ask for her prayers and also say a prayer for her too!

If you have a picture or note about your mom you would like to share (anything you think might be motivational to others), I would love for you to do so over on my Facebook timeline.

Have a great weekend, and if you are a mom, do something special for yourself too!

With Love and Humility,

Happy Mother's day to all the wonderful moms out there.
You are the phenomenal ones!

Remember - Women weren't created to do everything a man can do, women were created to do everything a man can't do.
And, the beauty of motherhood is not in reproduction but in inclusion – to experience another life as a part of yourself.
